Now, I can't say I play Magic anymore, however I do know enough to raise the question: Isn't this card just a little TOO F*****G POWERFUL?

it looks powerfull, but in semi competative gaming I played, it'd be brutally hard to every cast that with the mana requirements.

Can something be too venerable?? I was really looking forward to this model, and I am kinda dissapointed. It looks like he was attacked by a knick-knack store. And honestly, does a mechanized coffin with a mostly dead guy inside need a loin cloth?

No could be quite easy actually. Just use a deck with lots of creatures and artifacts which you can use for a mana of your choice. I think theres even one that lets you sacrifice a life point for a mana point of your choice. Combined with this an almost sure win.. Especially if you add another card which lets you untap this one

The possibility of this card ever coming into play and working is highly unlikely.  Any competetive player has a way to deal with this card or will have you beat down by the time you are even able to play it.

still though, unless you build a deck; just to use that card. the likelyhood of getting it off i wouldn't call very high.

on another note magic has been dead for quite some time. for me personally it died when i realized who ever has the more expensive more often than not wins. i.e. fuck MTG

yep as said before this card really isnt that good because of the mana requirements...  and its not like this effect are new, IMO cards like phage and platinium angel are far better and ALOT easier to actually use. I can't think of any of my 6 current decks that would have any troubles with this, the only slow decks you really see these days are mostly combo decks like this and will then almost always have some counter spells or so, or actual counter decks, and well rest of normal beatdown, swarm, big creature whatever decks will have the opponent dead before this ever becomes a real threat... if like you say skorp you need creatures to use it, then it wouldn't really be that hard for the opponent to just kill those creatures or such.

Also you need to see the new cards in context with the other new cards, this card for an example is from a block that focuses extremly much on artifacts = also lots of ways to prevent artifacts from being used one way or the other, it will always be possible to make some crazy theory deck with old and new cards, but in most competition uses this will be used only with newer cards and with decks that are all filled with artifacts or things to destroy artifacts, its just like you wouldnt make a space marine army with units from 3 differant editions of there codex, but only use the newest and the newest rulebook ( well kinda at least hehe )
