Battle I recently fought. It was 500 points and a Meat Grinder
Me: Necron Lord= 155 points Resurrection Orb
10 Warriors= 180 points 8 Scarab Swarms= 96 points Tomb Spyder= 55 points Total= 486 points
Opponent: Emperors Champion= 105 points
2 Tactical Squads of 9 Space Marines and a Veteran Sergeant= 300 points Librarian= 70 points Total= 475 points
Turn 1: All Marines move but are out of range. Necrons move 6" with Tomb Spyder and Lord. Scarab move 12" ahead. Warriors take out 4 Marines.
Turn 2: Marines stay put and fire there bolters taking down 3 Necrons. Smite puts a wound on 1 of my Scarabs and then the Emperors Champion causes another with pistol. "Will Be Back" and 2 Necrons stand up. The rest of the 1st Tactical Squad gets killed by Warriors and a assault by Scarabs. Tomb Spyder heads for Emperors Champion.
Turn 3: Marines shoot down 4 Necrons and cause a wound to Necron Lord. Emperors Champion assault Spyder and takes it down. Librarian takes a Necron down with pistol. Necrons "Will Be Back" stands up 3 Warriors. Necrons shoot down Libraian and Scarbs take out rest of the Tactical Squad while Emperors Champion takes out Lord when assaulted.
Turn 4: Emperors Champion takes out 2 Warriors. Then my turn and Phylactery lets my Lord stand up with 2 wounds then finishes him off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I win this was a short battle but his real army hasent lost in 2 years.

Sounds like you were pretty lucky with your WBB rolls. His army list is strange--did he have any heavy weapons?

WBB clearly states: If at any time your forces drop to or below 25% you automaticaly loose regardless of other conditions of the game. This means that after WBB rolls the nerons still can phase out, and the adiational troops you may get from infinate deployment(Not sure if meat grinder uses that rule), do NOT count twards that 25%.
Nice going, really luckey on WBB.
I would have dropped a swarm of scarabs to put palacteracy on your lord, it is VERY worth it, because you can risk your lord a bit more than usual, and still get your wounds back, especially with your luck, you could loose him and get heim back at FULL WOUNDS, much bttter tahn one 3 wound swarm, especialy on a 500 point match.

Good job, the Necrons are now one step closer to purging the galaxy.....mwahahahahaha!
Seriously though, that Emperor's Champion was pretty effective in mashing your force. It sounded like you sent the Tomb Spyder out isolated and unsupported into that assult with the EC, don't do that. Tombe Spyders are better used as a counter-assult unit.
